This error occurs even though if you have more free space; then your File System of your Hard Drive (C:/D:/E:/F: etc) must be changed to NTFS from FAT32 in order to avoid this error.

Method I :
There is an inbuilt option in Windows XP/Vista/7 OS to convert your File System to NTFS from FAT32.
  1. Click Start > Run > type "cmd" and hit Enter.
  2. This will open the command prompt window.
  3. If you want to convert the drive D: to NTFS, type the cmd below exactly without quotes.
  4. "convert d: /fs:ntfs"and hit Enter key.
  5. When prompted enter the volume label.

Method II :
You can also change the File System to NTFS in XP/Vista/7 by using a Freeware called "EaseUS Partition Master - Home Edition" .
