How To Reset Canon MX390, MX394, MX395, MX397

Problem:

Waste ink tank full, waste ink pad full, the ink absorber is almost full, error 5B00, error P07, blink 7 times, blink 8 times, the ink absorber becomes almost full, error E08, error E07, error 6C10, error 5B02.

Printer:

Canon Pixma MX390, MX394, MX395, MX397

Reset Canon MX390, MX394, MX395, MX397

Step 1: Enter Service Mode

1.   Turn off the printer.

2.   Press and hold the Resume button.

3.   Press and hold the Power button.

4.   Release the Resume button (the Power button is still pressed).

5.   Press and releasing the Resume button 5 times.

6.   Press and hold the Resume button.

7.   Release the Power and Resume buttons together.

After the both buttons are released, the power indicator will blink green for some time and then the green will light constantly.

If after follow points 1-7 the green light not constantly but the printer continues to show an error, it's mean you made a mistake in points 1-7. Turn off the printer and repeat step 1.

Step 2: Reset Canon MX390 series

To reset the Canon MX390, MX394, MX395, MX397 can be done with (select one):

a.     Service Tool v.3400

b.     Service Tool v.3600

c.      Service Tool v.4905

a.     Reset with Service Tool v.3400

·            Download Service Tool (support Win XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10)

·            Extract file and open Service Tool

·            Load paper

·            Clear Ink Counter, select MAIN (1)

·            Set (2)

·            Wait the printer finish printing D=000.0

·            Click OK

·            Close Service Tool

·            Turn off printer (wait 10 seconds)

·            Turn on printer

·            Printer ready for use

b.     Reset with Service Tool v.3600

·            Download Service Tool (support Win XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10)

·            Extract file and open Service Tool

·            Load paper

·            Clear Ink Counter, select MAIN (1)

·            Set (2)

·            Wait the printer finish printing D=000.0

·            Click OK

·            Close Service Tool

·            Turn off printer (wait 10 seconds)

·            Turn on printer

·            Printer ready for use

c.      Reset with Service Tool v.4905

·            Download Service Tool (support Win XP, Vista, 7, 8, 8.1, 10)

·            Extract file and open Service Tool

·            Load paper

·            Clear Ink Counter, select MAIN (1)

·            Set (2)

·            Wait the printer finish printing D=000.0

·            Click OK

·            Close Service Tool

·            Turn off printer (wait 10 seconds)

·            Turn on printer

·            Printer ready for use
