How to reset waste ink counter on Brother MFC-J4410DW, DCP-J172W and others

Solution for resetting the waste ink counter for these Brothers printers: MFC-J4410DW, DCP-J172W:


Solution 1:

• Press the house symbol for 4 to 8 seconds.
• 4 lines of information appear
• Press sur 4th line (must be empty) for about 3 seconds.
• A numerical pas appear
• Press *, 2, 8, 6, 4
• "Maintenance" is displayed
• Press "01"
• "Select 01?" appears
• Press under the double right arrow until "Mono" appears
• Press "Mono"
• "Param. init." is displayed
• Press 2,7,8,3
• Press 9,9 to finish

Solution 2:

• Press "menu" (house symbol)
• Press "Mono Start" and press 4 times "Scan" (or arrow up)
• After a bip, "Maintenance" is displayed.
• Press 8 and 0
• Press "Mono Star" until "Purge count" appears
• Press 2,7,8,3
• Press "Stop/Exit"
• Press 9,9 to finish
